Elizabeth's Story

Hi everyone! I went to school as Beth Lawlor and I am now known as Beth Lawlor although I did get married and have children. I went back to my maiden name once the children got out of school. After High School, I worked briefly at a jewelry store. I then got laid off. I had to decide what I wanted to do the rest of my life. I decided to go to the Bryman School in Torrance, CA. I worked at various dental offices as a dental assistant. Some may remember that through high school I dated Harry Boquist. My first love and thought I would die when we broke up. During this break up, my sister took me with her to Europe. I saw England, Ireland, Holland, Belgium, France, Spain, and Italy but mostly my time was in Austria, Germany and Switzerland looking up my ancestors. I will never forget that experience!! I then met and married David Cobabe. We were married 6 years and had 3 boys while we were married and was pregnant with the 4th that was born 2 months after the divorce was final. I now am firm believer that no one has the right to pick your partners! My parents were my influence but I know they meant well. However, divorce with a selfish father really ran it's toll with my boys. Life was not easy for us but we are fighting back. I am proud of the changes that my boys have made to change their lives and make it better for their families. My mother pasted away suddenly the same year I was divorced (October 1980). She is buried in San Pedro. All that knew her knew she was a special lady. My father is 93 yrs old and is healthy. He goes between Utah and California until recently. He is now in an assisted living condo in Colorado. I had a long relationship and had a daughter who is my pride and joy. She is just ...Expand for more
like me!! I have 5 grandsons and no granddaughters at the present. I love being a grandma!! In 2006 I moved to Las Vegas to be closer to my children and grandchildren that left Washington and moved to the heat. Not the place I want to retire!! TOOOOO HOT!! I have worked in the Dental field in all areas. I am now administrative and plan to be here until I retire then I will move on. My daughter and her family has been transfered to Hawaii so I am looking forward to visiting her there July 2009. I have never been and she loves it! She has my retirement planned out. When her husband retires from the military, they will build a house with a mother in law apartment and I will live with them. Well.....we will see. I plan to travel and visit all my children and grandchildren since they are now spredding out. I have been single (not in a relationship) since 1999. My children and grandchildren take my time. Besides working full time I now own a business and I am now expanding that business to include silk screening some really cute designs on t-shirts and hope to move on to 2 piece children outfits. I work at home but my present job allows time every other week to work more on my home business. I am really looking forward to the reunion next year!! I haven't been able to make past reunions because we lived too far and money was tight. I am excited that I can now go to this one and look forward to seeing my classmates again! I have communicated with several alumi in past years (Karen Taylor Farley, Anita McLain Cantu, Jeff Searles and Ernie Ojeda). Those I have not seen for a long time, I am looking forward to catching up at the reunion. I hope that those that are able to attend will. It sounds like it will be fun!
