Ellen (Dutra)'s Story
2010 is going to be a year of new directions for me -- just don't know what they are yet. I retired from my position as a Client Services Manager for an investment firm on December 31, 2009. The last seven years of my life have been filled with great joy and some grief. After my first husband, Jim Norborg, passed away in 1999, I began my life as a single lady. At the end of 2001, I met the love of my life, Walter Garry, through the Catholic Alumni Club in Sacramento. We had a beautiful a...Expand for more
nd adventuresome life together. Between us we have 7 children and 13 granchildren -- Walt having contributed 5 of the kids and all of the grandchildren. In May of 2008, Walt was diagnosed with a brain tumor and the next 16 months were filled with challenges and lots of love and support. Walter passed away peacefully on October 4, 2009. He was a very special and courageous man, and I greatly miss him. For now, I'm in healing mode and reflecting on what the next phase of my journey will be.
