Ellen's Story
After my dad relocated to Dallas from Lubbock, I started at WT White in 1967 and graduated in 1969. Moving to Dallas was hard for me. I never seemed to acclimate at White, even though, I had several friends. Maybe it was moving to a large city from a small town and especially during my high school years. After following the Hippie movement during my senior year, I found "Lee Park" as one of my hang outs.
In 1971, I moved to Cole Avenue and lived next door to BW (Buckwheat) Stephenson. He wrote "My Maria" before Brooks & Dunn brought it back. I remember listening to BW play and write his music through my apartment walls. We used to walk to coffee houses and listen to Jerry Jeff Walker and Ray Wylie Hubbard, sing. d "The Fog" (Oak Lawn and Lemmon) where I met Santana, Three Dog Night and Johnny Winter who were "no names" at the time.
In 1973, I moved to San Diego and married my now ex-husband in 1974. We lived there until 1976. After the birth of my oldest daughter we moved back to Dallas and still reside here. I was married for 33 years and divorced in 2007. We raised 4 children (three that are married and have families of their own. My youngest is still single and lives in LA. I have six grandchildren and another on the way. I adore all of them.
I currently work for a Project Management Consulting Firm in Allen supporting their Inside and outside Sales team and very interested in connecting with some of my former classmate so share past stories and make new friends..
