Ellen's Story
Life
After high school I moved to the "big smoke" -Portland! I had long-dreamed of being an architect and began, what I thought was to be, my degree/career path at PSU. 2 years later, I was missing Eugene and returned to attended the UofO and LCC continuing my studies in architecture...and art. Before I graduated I took a hiatus from school and moved to Anchorage, Alaska for 2 years. It was a dramatic change and a great chance to learn new outdoor skills and see some awesomely, rugged beauty! After a bit more wandering... I finally graduated from the UofO with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts with an emphasis on Photography and Visual Design.
Being a life-long traveler, I've had all sorts of jobs! In 1996 I was crewing on a sailboat in Baja, Mexico where I met an Australian sailer/ photographer named Mark. Although we are based in different countries Mark and I continue to travel and work together. He lives in Puerto Vallarta on Mexico's west coast. Yes, it's complicated...

to decline so I came home to Eugene and have been based here since. Mom later passed away and I'm so glad I decided to come back to spend time with her. We were always very close.
Presently, I live and maintain a home office in the south hills of Eugene. I'm not sure I'll be here forever but it's been fun to be back in Eugene. I love the music, amazing food and endless outdoor possibilities we have here. Cheers to small towns!
In the last few years I've had the opportunity to travel and work in some beautiful places --New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, Belize, Cuba, The British Virgin Islands, Hawaii, Colorado River and many special places in the NW.
I've never married or had children so my life is pretty simple I guess. My design business introduces me to a variety of new things and new people. In addition to graphic arts I'm also offering Color Consulting and Decorative Painting. In the Spring of 2009 I launched a line of notecards and paper products called "Papellos" which feature my travel photography.
