Ellenina's Story
Life
After high school, I went to Emory University for a semester and then switched to GA State while I worked to support myself (and help my mom). Those of you who remember me know that my dad died before I left McEachern.
I was engaged to be married while in college, but called it off and went to live in Greece for a year. While there, I travelled a lot and enjoyed the freedom that trip brought to my life. When I decided to return to the states, I came back to GA for just a short time before moving to California. I enjoyed all the outdoor activities you can pursue living out here, and my work as a consultant allowed me plenty of time for travel.
Before long, I met the man I would eventually marry. We now live in Thousand Oaks with our 2 boys (ages 7 and 8). It's a nice suburban area...Expand for more
and we're about a 20 minute drive from the beach. My boys love karate and are more than halfway to their black belts in Tang Soo Do. I am very proud of them both!
I am still consulting and have switched to developing training materials for custom software systems. My work is still done mostly done from home so I have time for my other interests. I teach fiber arts and surface design techniques at a local art quilting studio and I have had the opportunity to show my work in two museums. I have also had work on display in a few galleries as part of a group show. I'm in the processes of finishing up my BFA and hope I can transition to teaching art in schools in the future.
I just started training in the same Tang Soo Do studio as the boys and it is turning out to be a great adventure for me.
