Elmer's Story
Firstly I'd like to wish everyone well. I truly hope the last couple of decades have brought smiles and good times to all.
Second I apologize for falling off the edge of the planet. A big part of me wanted to keep up with quite a few of the people in our graduating party. Funny how life has a way of intruding on little things like that..
Ah, life since May of 83'. With the exception of my 2 cool kids (those of you who knew me, can you imagine?), well, not to be too korny and coin a Meatloaf lyric, "I want my money back" :P
After getting out of the Service and kicking around Abilene for a while I got hitched and moved to Tennessee. 14 years later it was the big D bomb.
That was 3 years ago. And yes it carried with it financial ruin, and all the other negatives you can imagine, I don't recommend it. :P
However, there does seem to be light at the end of the tunnel, and THIS time I don't think its a train.
..
Looking at starting my own business this year. A small manufacturing facility.(production machine shop)
Lovvvve scuba diving. Got my kids certified about 3 years ago. Matthew was 16 and Emily 13. You cannot believe how proud I was when they pass...Expand for more
ed their cert dives. Especially under the conditions. February in northern Florida is still cold. Water temp of 68 and air of 42. 3 Dives in one day and they came back for more.
Real troopers.
We go diving every chance we can.
Though that is never often enough.
Emily is hoping to be Master Instructor by the time she graduates High School. A bit ambitious, but if it can be done, she will.
Career: Machinist, Multi axes CNC Programmer, Supervisor. Pretty much it.
Health, hmmm..
Well, I found out about 10 years ago, after a knee surgery, that I have Serro Negative Rheumatoid arthritis. Have had all my life.(Apparently, as my doc told me, it wasn't normal when I was 12 years old out hunting with my dad for all of the knuckles in my hands to turn blue in the cold. I thought that was normal. Go figure)
Anyway, 4 knee surgeries(just had another last week)and a whole lotta drugs later, I'm still fighting the good fight. Still looking for a way to get off the meds through diet and exercise. Who knows, maybe one day...
In the interim, just keep your shoulder down and push. :P
