I always wanted to be a Bank Branch Manager when I grew up. My family and friends thought that I should continue as a retail salesperson.. As it turns out, they were half right. Within 3 months of graduating High School I started as a salesperson (WT Grants Dept Store) left there within 5 months for the banking business,(Suffolk County Federal Saving and Loan now known as Astoria) finding my start in the mail room filling branch supply requisitions and accounting for all in house retail items and of course all Banking correspondence. After 4 months I asked for a transfer to the Banking floor where my Banking career officially started. 6 months later I was Assistant Head Teller of the main branch. Started taking college classes at night attaining my Financial Degree quite a number of years later.
