Elsie's Story
I am the second oldest of ten children. I was married in 1965 to James Haynes Jr., who was Ron Ham's uncle. We had 2 children together. A daughter, Mary-Anne, who is 43 and a son James III 40 and a grand-daughter Rebecca 19. They now live in Oakdale. I moved to Phoenix in 1976 and stayed there til he died in 2000. My mom came out to live with us in 1991 and stayed til she died in1998 .I came back and bought a house in New London, went to work at Faria's, got into got a foster care, and got remarried to an ex-fiance in 2002. In that order. He has 2 sons Bob 43 and Tom 28, in Plainfield and a daughter Brenda 40 and 3 grandchildren in Va. Together we adopted a little boy in 2008 who is now 11, and are now in the process of adopting a 10 yr old girl and her brother and sister, twins 8 yrs old. p us young. My husband is 69 and still works part-time at 4 different jobs. One is a steady job every day, the others are seasonal. His steady job is a crossing guard at Jefferson and Colman streets, for which he just received an award from the Board of Education. I am a fulltime homemaker after years of working in offices and restaurants and doing childcare in my spare time. I also drove tractor trailers with my late husband and rode motorcycles with the Gold Wing Road Riders Association of Arizona. I have done all that I have wanted, including going to London, England, with one of the companies I worked for, and am back to my beginnings as a mother. This is the best that there is. Children need love and homes in order to grow and become someone to carry on. They need to be nurtured. I hope to be around to see them get married and become someone, who is doing something special.
