Emmett's Story

Life I currently live in Jacksonville, Florida where I've been now since 1989. I am a Financial Advisor/CFP down here and love my job. I was married in 2001 to my wonderful wife Rita. We just had a beautiful baby girl in November of 2004. Unfortunately I have missed our 10 year class reunion, but want to come to any future ones! School I went to St. Mary's elementary school in Bloomington, IL from 1976 to 1984. I went there with about the same 20-25 friends for 8 years. Some of us then went to Central Catholic High, like me. Unfortunately my father needed to move because of employment, so I missed out on the next 3 years with my classmates I grew to love! I attended Caldwell High School in Columbus, Mississippi for the next 3 years and graduated there. I would love to know about any future reunions or even just a note from anyone who remembers me from St. Mary's or Central Catholic...Expand for more
High. Workplace After leaving the military, I found that I really liked dealing with money and financial planning. I pursued part-time work as an assistant for an Financial Advisor while going to college from 1993-1996. I became a Financial Advisor with John Hancock in 1996 and am now a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) with Allegiance Financial Advisors. I really enjoy my career and love helping others reach their financial goals! Military I joined the Navy in 1988, went to Great Lakes for boot camp, and became an Anti-Sumbarine Warfare Operator after about a year of training in Pensacola, FL, Millington, TN, and Jacksonville, FL. I was assigned to VP-16 (Patrol Squadron 16) in 1989 and was deployed to Sicily, Iceland, Spain, The Azores, Bermuda, Panama, and Puerto Rico. I was honorably discharged in 1992 and spent another 3 years in the Active Reserve with VP-62 in Jacksonville, FL.
