Eric's Story
Let's see,
Life has been interesting to say the least. My journey after high school started at the University of Florida (Go Gators!!). Although the football team performed well as usual (they had Emmitt Smith at the time, duh), my academic stint at UF lacked the gusto I was used to in high school. I came back home in 1991 and quickly remembered why I wanted to leave in the first place. So, I looked to the armed services to give my life a little push. I waited a year and departed for basic training in August 1992. I knew this was gig for me right off the bat as it offered structure, steady pay, and the one thing I needed most of all to see what I wanted to do with my life, time. cepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior and started to receive some focus. I ended up back at Offutt for another tour. I finished my degree in healthcare administration and became a medical officer in the Air Force. I adopted two kids, went back to Kadena one more time and that's pretty much where I stand now. I bark out orders on a daily basis and people stand when I enter the room. A long cry from the shy, quiet, band geek that most of you are still scratching your heads about saying, he was in our class? I still live a quiet life, for the most part, but the shyness was kicked out of my life about 15 years ago. I take what I've learned from being a Christian and do my best to apply it as being a leader. Moms and Dads are trusting me to get their kids home safe and I do my best each day, along with prayer, to make sure that happens. God bless
