Eric's Story
Well, I am married to Vicki Leist Dubreuil Johns and live in Orange County, California. After graduating from Yorktown in 1962, I attended the University of Richmond, and then received my degree from the Pasadena Playhouse College of Theatre Arts in California in 1967. After college, I went into the Army and spent five years in Vietnam as a writer, both with the Army and as a civilian. In 1974, I began work with the Veterans Administration in Indiana, then after receiving my MBA from the University of Indiana and my CPA, transferred to the General Accounting Office and spent the next 22 years auditing our various federal government operations, including the military and the IRS. e and have spent 12-1/2 years working with special education children at elementary schools in Anaheim. I retired for the second time in June 2017, and I've now re-opened my theater life, taking my first stage role in 44 years at the Rialto Theater in Rialto, CA.
I keep pretty busy outside of my work, with my current interests including my wife and dogs (of course), following professional baseball, collecting toy soldiers, reading, listening to music, and spending time at our small second house in the high desert. Both of us also travel a lot, though not always together. My most recent journey was June-July 2016, a cross-country drive from California to Virginia to South Carolina to Georgia to Chicago to Omaha to my hometown of Duncan, Oklahoma, and back home again to Orange County, California.
