Eric Johnson:  

by a family of artists and musicians, and with my dad a teacher and piano technician, it was quite natural for me to combine these influences into a creative profession. Combining these influences with my HIGHLY individualistic personality, I ended up self-employed. I had to literally create my own profession, laboring in extreme poverty for years. Sometimes I would attempt to get a regular job, but no doors ever opened for me, so I just kept on with what I was already doing. And work steadily grew until I could earn enough to survive on. I am very poor, but doing what I want to. And it is a very interesting multiple profession. I am classified as an Independent Artist, and currently hold one of the largest piano maintenance contracts in Northern California, as well as a large clientele of music and art students. I regularly perform concerts on the harp, fiddle and organ, and am selling my artwork through the internet and through local shows.
