Eric's Story

The question is "who am I really?" what a screwed up question. I'm a guy, so simplicity comes to mind. Most women would say, a lack of understanding or caring. I would say in my case, world knowledge (from my extensive travels), caring for people I know nothing of, the need and desire to protect those that can't protect themselves and the ability to listen to people and understand them and to keep them from doing "things" that are irreparable. In high school I had my shy side but my friends may have never seen it. I felt that without my friends I was nothing. While I was an active duty Marine, I felt the same. I felt as if I was in a brotherhood but still had my "closest brothers". They were my friends who I trusted most, who I never second quessed and who I would give my life for (without regret). My brothers and sisters of the Marine Corps went and fought in the Middle East. Life sucked but we lived. In 1993, I left the Marine Corps and I started my career in Law Enforcment (I must be a sucker for a sob story, lol). I worked everything from corrections to knu...Expand for more
ckle dragging street cop. I was a Field Training Officer and a weekend supervisor. My team and I worked everything from petty theft to murder. Between the Marine Corps and Law Enforcement, I had broken bones and dislocated joints enough that I took an early retirement. I can still pull my own shoulder out and re-set it without diffeculty. The first time it happened it felt like "CRAP". Since then, not so bad lol. I retired from Law Enforcement in 2006. Since then I've been going to school full time and working full time. Whatever fills the time right. Not much time really. I have 18 children, only 3 live here in the U.S. so no problem, lol. Right now, what am I doing? Well, I'm within 10 years of middle age so I'm really thinking of the past and thinking of missed oportunities and past loves (that I never told that I loved). My life is good ( I have 3 children that I love without condition). I have friend, who I love and they love me. I have prior, present and future brothers and sisters (Marines) that I love and who love me. My best wishes to all eric
