OBITUARY FOR: METZLER ERIC MARTIN Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Friend, Teacher and Colleague. Born April 10, 1960 in Pittsburgh, PA to Frederick Martin Metzler and Eileen Louise McCann passed away suddenly November 1, 2006. He was a graduate of Langley High School class of 1978. Eric passionately served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Fukuoka, Japan, the land he came to love and call home. Eric graduated from Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah with a Bachelor's Degree in Asian Studies-Japanese. On August 19, 1983 he married his best friend and eternal companion, Kaoru Kimoto in the Salt Lake, LDS Temple. Together they had four beautiful children: Joshua Daiske (22), Justin Toru (20), Michelle Yumi (17) and Paula Aki (12). Eric was dedicated to his family. He had an enthusiasm for life that was immeasurable yet felt by all who came into contact with him. He shared his passion for life with his wife and children by celebrating the holidays and special occasions to their fullest. He always made time to share in each day with them. He could brighten the darkest of days and was ready to assist on a moment's notice. His house was home and the door was always open to friends and strangers alike.
