Erica (Irissa)'s Story
My son is the love of my Life! He was born May 2011 and has taught me more than I ever could've imagined about love and patience. Forever grateful to be his mom!
School
Who can forget Walla Walla High School. Some of the best and worst years of my life.
College
College has been an on again, off again thing in my life. I would very much like to earn a degree; however structured learning just doesn't really seem to be my thing.
Workplace
Looking for a new endeavor to apply my skills
Military
I remember it was 2 am in the middle of January somewhere in the countryside of South Korea standing on guard duty, 10 degrees out, in the snow making sure that no one stole a 50 lb M50 that was frozen to the ground!! That was when I came to the realization that I was in the US Army, in South Korea freezing my behind off!! What in the world had I done to myself!?!? ;-)
Not that I regret it for one minute. Some days I actually miss it. Or maybe that is just the people I miss. I certainly hope it is the people. I cannot imagine missing a lot of the other *&$)#(*&% that goes on in the Army.
I may not like this stupid war. HOWEVER - I TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY support the Men & Women in the Military and hope they each come home sa...Expand for more
fe and sound (both in mind and body!) to their friends and families!!!
Favorite way to relax: I go out to the animal shelter I volunteer at and play with the dogs, brush them, pet them and sit on the ground to get smothered by happy dogs ;-) Always puts me in a better mood!
My first job was at Klickers, where I got paid $1.10 a flat to pick strawberries. What I remember most about it is that my best friend Lisa and I did this together!.
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have flexibility, humor, and openness to be able to deal with the day-to-day.
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the kitchen and add on a greenhouse. My dream home would be with a mile of no neighbors in any direction.
If I won $100 million, I'd give $1 million to each - my mom, my aunt, my uncles, my step-dad, my step-mom, my sister, my brother & the animal shelter where I volunteer, then spend the rest on dream home, travel and retirement :-).
Not college, but did live in an Army Barracks. Very similar - except cleaner probably :-) In the Army you had to clean every single weekday morning!!
My best friend would tell you I'm sweet & kind, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as aloof & a bit of a loner.
