Life while in Africa a preacher friend gave me a nickname "Jabari", which means courageous; and I believe I stand up to the name. Married for almost two years now to my sweetheart, Steve, and we just welcomed a new addition to our family; Aaron James. He's a beautiful little boy with daddy's forehead and Grandpa's red hair. we're still getting to know him- still getting used to sleep depravation too :) Living in Humboldt, learning to love the area, weather and folks :) Since the pregnancy I quit my job as a behavioral therapist- kids were too violent for me to manage in my baby-toting condition. I am now a stay at home mom, which already presents challenges for my social personality, so hooking up with a few different mom and ladies groups are on the agenda for the summer. Steve graduated from Humboldt State this month and has begun working full time as a water distribution manager. He enjoys the work for now, but hopefully we'll be hearing back from the Calif. Dept. of Parks and Recreation where Steve has applied and passed a number of grueling tests. We should know within the next few months, but if that dosen't pan out, we know that the Lord has a much greater job in mind. we've learned to just trust that He'll take care of us and to not plan so far ...Expand for more
