Erik's Story

I should have done this about ten years ago¿ then I wouldn¿t have to remember what the heck I was doing almost 20 years ago! After High School I lived in Chicago for a couple of years to live in the ¿big city¿ and learn about life! I learned I needed to go back to some type of school if I wanted to make ends meet a little easier! Went to University at Minnesota State ¿ Mankato and then went to work at Maytag¿ if you need to know how to do laundry properly and load a dishwasher so things come out clean I¿m the guy to ask! Maytag sent me out East to Philadelphia in ¿95 and I¿ve been out in the area ever since. Left Maytag at the beginning of 2000 and went into the start-up world in home technology. That was a lot of fun and enabled me to travel all over the place. in Allentown, I met my future wife, Melanie while playing on a ¿Y¿ volleyball team. She was from the Pocono Mountains ¿ not really mountains like the Rockies but bigger than the hills I was used to in Wisco! After we were married in ¿03 we began a family and have two wonderful¿ but challenging little girls Madison and Emma. The start-up world does not bode well for a new daddy who wants to spend time with his family. I left the travel behind and found a solid company Lutron Electronics that¿s about a 40 minute commute. We built a home in the Pocono¿s in ¿04 near the rest of Melanie¿s family for help with the kiddos. My mother built a home about 10 minutes from us in ¿06 and spends the summers here and the winters still in Florida. I¿ve had a lot of fun along the way and am looking forward to seeing and hearing what others have been doing at our 20th reunion! Take care until then!
