Erik's Story
Retired from the U.S.Army. Separated from Wife, have 3 kids (see "staying with wife). Retirement sucks when all you worked for isn't yours to share, or yours "period". I'm at school in Phoenix Arizona, for Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI) Re-inventing myself, as well as the Wheel. I ride bikes, have a 1970 FLH Harley-Davidson, and a 1959 Russian Military Bike with sidecar, Molotow M-72 a copy of a WWII Wehrmacht R-71 Motorrad. Anyway.....I'm in Phoenix now, for 15+ months. I originally Retired in Missouri, and it's not a bad place actually...if one can look past conservative fundamentalist thinking. I enjoy the country life, chopping wood, stoking the chimmney, being away from the noise of the city. Phoenix is the complete opposite. It is like totally chaotic..remains me of St. Petersburg Florida...no one drives correctly there either. Been around the world via Uncle Sam, and I'm glad to be outta Iraq, and retired. Now hopefully I and my Cat Gorby (Gorbachow) can survive the wiles of waskle-wee Phoenix Awa-zona. "Trailers for sale or rent, ...Expand for more
Rooms to lent fifty cent, Old worn out suit and shoes... I ain't got no union dues, ahh, but two hours of pushing broom buys a eight by ten four bit room, I'm a, man of means by no means...."King of the road". yeah....king of the road......banishment to the desert.
Mike Fournier and I had purchased fire crackers, and we both were wearing old O.D.Green Army jackets. We kept the fire crackers in our top left pocket, so we could easily access them when we wish to throw them into a Military housing "Stairwell". BOOM...you get the picture right? Well we got bored and decided to throw fire crackers at each other. yes...lit fire crackers (unlit fire crackers are no fun) Mike chucked a good one which landed right inside my left pocket, igniting the bunch, and "blowing the pocket completly off the jacket, as i was scrambling to get it off.!!!! Enuff said. We lost mike to a traggic auto accident in 1981. He was 21 years old. I'm 48, and there is not a day goes by when I don't think of him. We had fun together when we were in junior high and high school.
