Erin's Story

Life Up until 2 years ago I always had horses (since I was 7). I have grown up around dogs, and a variety of other types of animals. I love travelling, in the last year I have been to Las Vegas twice (actually came home with more money than I had when I went, BOTH TIMES), and Manhattan twice. I absolutely loved NYC, the city is just incredible. I am probably a whole lot different than I was in high school. In fact, a lot of people don't recognize me now (and not different in a negative way either). I guess I could be called a late-bloomer, no longer do I allow people to push me around, no one is better than anyone else, and I refuse to let people put me down anymore, and anyone who does isn't worth my time. My AOL IM name is: GuardBraddock24 School Just start off let me answer the questions that are asked when you right these silly bios. Who was my biggest crush? - I didn't really have one. When I was in high school I was too focused on school work and showing my horses. It just wasn't my focus at that point. Which teacher inspired me most? - Well it certainly wasn't my band teachers at Columbia, they inspired me the least. When I moved to Manchester though, I had a great band teacher. I learned a lot from him. If I could do it all over again, would I? - Maybe somethings, for example I wish I was able to take harder classes, if there isn't a challenge I don't learn as much. I wouldn't change my social life at all. I don't mind that I was picked on, it made me stronger, not that I codone people's behavior in school. My funniest moment was probably when I choked on a sucker in my senior English class. It was kind of scary at the time, but I can laugh now, I had several people give me those safety suckers with the looped sticks. My happiest moment was when I found I got accepted to U of Michigan, and that I had received a 4-year Army ROTC scholarship. That was pretty cool. The craziest moment of my high school days was on my last day of school I blew out my ankle at the senior picnic durin...Expand for more
g a shaving cream fight. That hurt SO bad. I know this is going to make me sound accident prone (which I was for a few years) but my freshman year I got knocked out in gym class, I also lost my reflexes, seized, and quit breathing. My gym teacher Mr. Jordan opened my airway, which allowed me to start breathing, and likely saved my life. College I only had a roommate my freshman year of college. I was going to to U of Michigan and lived in Mary Markley hall. My roomate, Sarah, was SO quiet, but super nice. I couldn't have asked for a better roommate. She was from the U.P. and had a strong accent, by the end of the year, she was talking more like me, and I had picked up her accent. The cafeteria food sucked. No wonder people that live in dorms gain the freshman 15. It is all fat, carbs, and calories. Plus it just didn't taste that good most of the time. Thank GOD Ann Arbor has awesome food delivery. I only had a couple of all-nighters, and it was not usually studying for an exam, but because I had procrastinated on a term paper. I did live every college students worst nightmare, I slept through a final exam. I must not have set my alarm, but the professor was nice enough to let me make it up, if he hadn't I would have failed BIG TIME!!! Workplace Before I graduated from college I did a lot of waitressing. I started at The Red Bull, then Bennigan's, and finally Outback Steakhouse (which was my favorite). I was extremely fortunate to get hired right after I graduated to work at U of Michigan Hospital as a security officer for the Department of Public Safety. I love my job, the variety makes every day different, and I work with great people. Military My first 2 years of college I had a full Army ROTC scholarship. Sadly U of M was one of only 2 schools (UC Berkley was the other) that did not also pick up the room and board. The Army life was not for me, however, various injuries icluding a couple of nasty back injuries put the end to that. Once I was done going to school at the U the scholarship was done too.
