Hello to all!!
I have been happily married for almost 19 years to Gwen - who is a classical musician (viola and violin). We met at Indiana University, and after all our schooling and training we moved back to the Seattle area to be close to family. We have 3 kids - Evan (1990), Daniel (1992) and Heidi (1995) and live on beautiful Bainbridge Island, which is across the water from Seattle. I have been an "ER" doc since finishing my Emergency Medicine residency in 1988, and pracitice in the Seattle area. Family interests are bicycling, golf, skiing, kid stuff, fountain pen collecting and of course - music! I hope all is well with each of you!

Basically in 2004 I was struck by an intoxicated teen driver while bicycling. Went from being an ER doc to a major trauma patient in the blink of an eye - with a spinal cord injury. I can no longer work in the ER, yet am able to walk, jog and bicycle again. My blog tells the story.
Now spending my time with volunteer work, teaching medical students and working with others who are disabled - to encourage them to find life again after trauma and loss.
