Life My name is Ernestine Romero, but I go by Tina.I come from a big family of 7 sisters and 4 brothers, one brother is decease, he was was the second oldest of my 4 brothers. Our father was a farmer and our mom was a stay at home mom. I was born in a small town called Los Alamos just 19 miles south of Santa Maria. My other siblings were born in Santa Maria. After our father passed away we moved to South El Monte. There I attended Wilkerson Elementary School,Mt.View Jr.High School & then El Monte High School 1964 -1968. After high school,I moved to the City of Commerce. I was employed at Busy Bees clothing warehouse,labeling merchandise,for about a year. Then I started working at Uni Mart,soon after they had went out of business and that's when I started working for K-mart in East L.A. on Whittier Blvd. and Atlantic.In 1969 I moved to Montebello,but I still continued to work for K-mart. On 4th of July 1970 I met my sweetie at a after hours dance. After the dance was over he took me home and invited me and my daughter to a Bar-b-Que at his parents house.Two weeks later he asked me to marry him. 4 1/2 months later we got married at the Epiphany church in South El Monte on Nov.21,1970,and we've been married for 37 yrs.I had 3 kids they are all grown up now and made me a Grandma!My oldest daughter...Expand for more
