Ernie's Story
Life
Dad passed away in April 2008.We had him living with us the last three years and it was wonderful.
Robin and I are celebrating our 30th anniversary this November. Missed everyone at the 30th reunion It's tough when reunions fall on wedding anniversary getaways. Hoping the 35th is happening with the 100 year anniversary of FKDHS. Became a grandfather in 2006 ( Samantha Rose Rehr ) and again in 2007 ( Donald Logan Hauser ). Son Ernie and Wife Danielle are expecting another in November and Daughter Shannon and Husband Jason are due January. Both kids are school teachers and coaches. Wife Robin is a top producing Agent with Re/Max Affiliates N.E. I am halfway into my 24th year on Philly Police Dept. the last 17 as Director of the Rizzo PAL Center in Port Richmond. It's no coincidence that FKD has won SO MANY Pub Wrestling Titles as many were trained at Rizzo PAL as kids. Hope to see everyone at the 35th.

Started 25th year on dept inJune. WOW it's been a year so Robin and I will be celebrating our 31st this November.
Both Ernie and Shannon are celebrating their 5th wedding anniversaries this year. Hoping to get out and participate in FKD"S 100th anniversary celebrations in 2010.
UPDATE-11/17/2010
Made it out to the open house at FKDHS in May. It was great seeing some old friends and teachers. Coach Connelly and Mr. Donohue brought bach some great memories. Looks like the 100th anniversary celebration is gonna be a good time, although it's tough sharing our 35th class reunion with all of FKD alumni.
Just finished celebrating 32nd wedding anniversary and my son & daughter n law are expecting their 3rd child and my 5th grandbaby in December.
Hope to see everyone on the 26th of November.

Just celebrated my 26th year on the philly police dept and my 20th year as the Director of the Rizzo PAL Center in Port Richmond...

Was just named Port Richmond Star Publications Best Coach for the 2011/2012 publication year in the Best of River Wards edition.. It is a great honor as the award is voted on by the Port Richmond community, and I am very humbled by it.. I have an Awesome job of working with the youth of Port Richmond, Fishtown, Bridesburg, Kensington and every other part of our great city of Philadelphia.. I am into my 22nd year as director of the Rizzo PAL Center, with alot of my second generation PAL kids.. Stop by and say Hi if you get a chance.

inter programs and I keep hearing " you are still here, you coached me back in the 90's ".
It is an Awesome job that I get to do everyday. Star Publications just came out with their BEST OF THE RIVER WARDS FOR 2013 and the community voted me the Best Kids Mentor for 2013, a brand new category and I am honored to be the first to be recognized. Rizzo PAL also came in as runner up for the best non profit. Did I say that I LOVE MY JOB, and how rewarding it is to work with the youth of Philadelphia on a daily basis. In my personal life, grandchildren started 2nd grade, 1st grade, 2 in pre K and 1 in nursery school this year. My son Ernie was named the Philadelphia Inquirer's 2013 High School Baseball Coach of the Year for leading his Upper Moreland HS team to the class AAA Championship game. Daughter Shannon still teaching at LaBrum Middle School in NE Philly. And did I ever mention that my wife Robin is a Member of the REMAX Hall of Fame. very proud of her achievements. We will also be celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary this November. Where has all the time gone.
UPDATE 11-12-2015
Missed doing an update last year. So here is what 's new. Robin and I will be celebrating our 37th wedding anniversary the week right before the 40th H.S reunion. I always let her know that that Washington H.S girl got a real catch with this FKD alum. Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 27th. Well, where do I start. Grandchildren of course. Sammi is in 4th grade, Donnie in 3rd, Tyler and Drake are 1st and Lucas is Pre-k. They are playing all kinds of sports for Warrington and Parkwood. In house, Select, Soccer, Baseball, Softball, & Basketball Drake has also joined me at PAL and is part of the Wrestling program I run. I love spending as much time with them as I can. I just celebrated 30 years on the Philadelphia Police Department this past June, and signed up for the DROP Nov. 9th. That means the clock is ticking as I have 4 years left on the job. I am into my 25th year as the Director of the Rizzo PAL Center in Port Richmond. I have enjoyed my current assignment as you could tell. Last year 2014, I was honored by the Star Publications Community Paper again, this time for having the Best kids hangout, Best kid friendly spot and best non profit. I was the first to ever win three Best of the River Wards categories for the Star Publications. This year 2015, I not only repeated those three but the community voted me the Best Community Leader for the first time, thus giving me the distinction of winning four categories . Did I ever say that I love my job.. Of course for me it is truely all about the kids of Port Richmond, Fishtown, Bridesburg and the rest of the city that I am honored to serve. See everyone on the 27th.
