Ernie's Story
I was in Distributive Education at Austin, and my work/study job was as a Fuller Brush Man (+ 2 Yrs after HS including my 1st year married). Frank Hinz was my D.E. teacher. He only left Austin a few years ago, and now I see him once in a while as he is in the same business I am. I Married Rachalle Pantaleo in '65. We recently celebrated our 45th. I went into the employment agency business & eventually became an independant "head hunter." After several years of Sales Management in educational publishing, I've become an independant rep with sub reps. My firm is appropriately named Affective Educational Agenda. My niche is emotional intelligence. All of my publishers have paid specific & significant attention to attitude, behavior,ethics and the self-esteem side of child development, which I have strongly contended for over 30 yrs is precursory to cognition. aughters have given us four grandchildren , so far. They are, of course, the joys of our life! Having dropped out of H.S. & returned to grad w/the summer class of '64, I've been to reunions w/'62 & '63 as a "friend of the class" as well as events with the ' 64 ' 65 ' 66 group. I am the listkeeper for my origional class of ' 62, so if you haven't gotten invitations to reunions in ' 01, '04, '08 0r '11, you need to let me know & update your contact info. The above was written 11 years ago shortly before I retired. Rachalle and I will be married 57 years this October. We had a 5th grandchild 5 years ago. His name is Kieran. I am still the List Keeper for the class of ' 62, but now I also co-ordinate the List Keepers of the classes of ' 58 - ' 63. We have a casual "Meet 'N Greet" Reunion party every year. This year will be on August 20th at the Eaglewood Resort and Spa in Itasca, IL.
