Errol's Story
Life
I retired from Pac Bell in 1994. Went back as a consultant for five years. Installed the first DSL Modem in San Ramon for a SBC trial in San Ramon in 1996. Became the Chief Financial Officer of a dot.com communications co., retired from that in 2001.
I'm in Real Estate with Marples and Associates in Discovery Bay, CA I am President of the Delta Association of Realtor's. I am a Director of the California Association of Realtor's. Also a Director of East Bay Regional Data, Inc., the MLS for East San Francisco Bay. Currently living in Discovery Bay, which is a resort community on the California Delta. Our homes are on deep water, instead of a back yard, we have large Decks with ramps that go to our Docks. We have access to over 1100 miles of inland water-ways and San Francisco Bay.
I like to go into the City (San Francisco) to the theater, restaurants and to Pier 39. We are two and a half hours from South Lake Tahoe and the ski resorts, 3 Hrs to Reno or the Carson Valley. Bought into a Winery which we sold two years ago. 1 Hr to Wine tasting in Napa or 20 min. to Wine tasting in the Livermore Valley. There is always something to do. I like to take the old levee...Expand for more
road to Sacramento and stop off in the old towns along the Sacramento river. There is one town that still has the old gravity fed Gas Pumps. You hand pump the gas up into the Glass container on the top of the pump and let it fill your tank by gravity flow. After the Trans-Contential Railroad was built, the powers to be in Sacramento, hired the Chinese workers to build the Delta Islands. Some of the towns like Locke were built by these Chinese workers and many of the buildings look like they came right out of China. The buildings in many of the towns still have the late 19th Century look and the interiors are 19th Century too, wood floors. All-in-all, its a great life and there is always something to do..
School
Herman Adams and Bill Wooten inspired me the most. Mr. Wooten made Algebra and Geometry easy to understand, I changed Majors from Engineering to Business Management my second year of college. Graduated from Glendale College after returning from the Air Force. Upon moving to Northern California, I attended Saint Mary's College in Moraga, graduating with a BA in Business Management. My advanced studies were at Duke as part of my company's Executive Education Program
