Esther's Story

Life I am a Real Estate Agent, which keeps me very busy. Well, when I wrote this, I was busy, but now, since the market had bombed out, I collect aluminum cans. Hey, what ever pays the bills!! I am married with 3 grown children. My last child is in college and out of the house. Thank you God. I have many cats, 1 dog and 2 bird feeders. I am retired from the post office after 26 long years. Now, being in real estate, I work 24/7. Somehow, it didn't work the way I planned. My advise to anyone who is working an hourly wage, don't quit! Ever. Just go to work, come home, have weekends off and 2-4 wks vacation and enjoy life. I do a lot of small trips, visit the grandchildren, but am planning to make a big life style change. Haven't quite figured it out yet, but I feel it. Something like taking off for about a year, going around the country. Seeing things and really enjoying it, not being bugged by my kids anymore. But, that is yet to come. I have been in contact with a few classmates. That's always fun. It would be more fun if I would lose 20pds. I am into photography, so that keeps me busy too. I also do a lot of reading, just finished Harry Potter books-the best! I have 7 grandchildren and I will be visiting my daughters who live in Colorado for about 4 months. This will be my first time to spend a winter in Denver, Colorado. Let's see if I don't freeze my ass off. But I don't see that happening because I get some mean Hot Flashes. Menopause is a mother!! Now that's what's causing Global Warming. All these baby boomers having Hot Flashes! Well, got back from Denver, was cold, but no bi...Expand for more
zards, too bad. Almost got away without putting up xmas lights, but the child decided to come home for xmas. (just like that movie) So, last minute, husband and I were scrambling getting the lights up and 2 days before xmas, putting the tree up. Oh well, there is always next year. New Year rolling around, need to make changes, mentally! Can't do it physically, so, I am on a mission to see places I have never seen before, around our state. I would travel around the world, but need lots of money for that, so I'll stick around town. Anyway, so far, my New Years resolution has been a flop. Haven't lost those pounds and for lent, that hasn't been working out either. What the hell, it seems like the one I am fighting is myself. And I'm losing. Oh well, there is always tomorrow. That's what Scarlett O'hare said on Gone with the Wind and that's my story and I'm sticking to it!!! Loved being back in California, there is nothing like it. You can't beat the weather. But, I am going to Texas for my husbands high school reunion in April. It is a 3 day event and we are looking forward to the trip. I am suppose to loose weight for that too. Well classmates, hope things are going well for you and your family. Enjoy life, cause we only go around once, then the ride is over. Take care. Just a little update, It's 2008 and things are going smooth. Made a couple of trips to Denver and now I am back for the rest of the year. Getting ready for the 40th reunion, can't wait. I would love to hear from other classmates. I wish more people would post their picture and tell us a little about their life.
