Eva's Story
For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a wife and a mother when I grew up. When I became a Christian, I wanted to be a missionary wife or a preachers wife.
After high school, I attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO. I studied elementary education. I married a tall, handsome preacher boy. I was now a preachers wife. I loved full time ministry. Had three kids pretty quick. Lived in Rochester, N.Y., Souther California, Washington state, Dallas Texas and Oregon. We worked with young married couples primarily.
We started a church in Rancho Bernardo, CA and were there for quite few years when my husband suffered burn out. He left the ministry and we moved to Oregon where he went into the insurance business. After 22 years of marriage he heard the 'call of the wild' and took off from the family.
Along the way I began to get involved with grooming dogs. The Lord knew I would need it in the future. I was able to make a career of grooming and have been a leader in my industry. I opened a luxury dog boarding facility as well. You can visit my website a...Expand for more
t thegratefuldog.org. I believe God knew I would need a unique business to support myself with my lack of education.
I, being very naive, fell for the first guy that made me feel like a princess. We were married for 7 years. He too felt the call of the wild. (Must be my charm).
Now, for 9 years, I'm single and usually loving it. I have a closer walk with Christ than I have ever had. I feel like my ministry now is to teach my 5 wonderful grandchildren to be followers of Christ.
I'm living my dream in the country with my horses and ponies for the kids. My children live within 30 minutes of me and my grands think 'grammies' house is the best place in the world.
I've kept my foot in music and am on the worship team at my church.
I have started doing music with my brother via the internet and have published a few songs with him and some others we collaborate with all over the country.
I'm excited and apprehensive about the future. I pray that the country will return to its roots, which are the foundation for Gods blessing, before it is too late.
