Evelyn's Story
OK... I'll do it again. Hopefully CM doesn't loose them anymore.
I got out of school & went into life. I've done lots of different jobs, always something new. Didn't have a career, had a whole bunch of interesting experiences.
I'm sure anyone who knew me is not surprised to hear that I never did get into conspicous consumption. Thanks to that single trait, I've done well. I have 4 children, who are all doing well. Oldest spent 7 yrs serving his country & is now back at college in CS.
I worked at a phone company operator & transfered to installation & repair. Got out of that & tried t break into the studios driving truck at the studios for a couple years. Went into the US Army, Ground Mobile Forces, Satellite Communications Network Controler, for 4 yrs. Got injected w/ all sorts of experimental stuff. I'm not gonna die if the Plague breaks out tho. :) Got a good background in electronics thru it. Did work toward a degree in Electronics & CS along w/ Business at USC. Got bored w/ that path. management is a bore.
I was in MIS for a while, doing tech support... LOVED it! Got my first computer job in '76. Bounced in & out of that most of the time. I did tech support in '89-91 for USC, then moved to Packard Bell. In '98 I got a job doing tech support for AT&T Worldnet. That was fun... but in '00 I got a gig as a professional web surfer. That was the coolest job on the planet... so after that I pretty much had to retire. After all.... what are you going to do after a job like that??? r 2 years, to learn to be a landlord. (& I make good $$ at it now.)
I went back to school, just to learn. Went thru nursing school, just because I'd feel awful if I was overseas, in a plaza somewhere & someone got ill & I couldn't help. Never went to work as an RN, but do love having the education for it.
I now have a farm in Missouri. It's only 50 acres, but we raise cattle, sheep, pigs, goats, rabbits, ducks, geese, turkeys & chickens. I can't do anything about what I fed my children, I didn't know any better & the commercial food supply that I bought food for them from wasn't as contaminated then. Now, even you people who buy at Whole Foods, are getting filthy, contaminated meat. WF can't get the meat that I raise. There are only ~5,000 beef animals raised Organically & Naturally (grass fed & FINISHED) in this country every year & the vast majority of it is direct marketed. It would take 50,000 to supply WF. They buy from foreign sources & have the broker they buy from cert that the meat is grown according to their 'protocol'. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that he's gonna sign anything to sell the meat at a premium. & you're gonna pay the price for it, in both cash & health.
I spend about half the time at the farm. I spend the other half either at my house in Glendale, or traveling. If you'd like to get a hold of me... Here's hoping y'll are as happy as I am!!! We certainly missed several of our 'better' classmates at the reunion! :)
