Everette's Story

Life After RHS finished UNC and Duke Med Sch. Served in SVN. Then trained at Harvard. Had three children. Received second doctorate at Johns Hopkins. Lived in London.Became Chair of Radiology at Vanderbilt for 17 years .Worked at Nat Academy of Sciences in Wash and at NIH.Worked in NC Gov office as Special Advisor for Science and Technology and retired to write. Just published 27th book; texts and novels. Four grandchildren. Live in Chapel Hill.Belong to Chapel Hill Country Club and Carolina Club Served as NCSU Vet School Foundation Pres,Duke Med Sch Alumni Board and many national committees. Received Order of Long Leaf Pine with wife Dr Nancy Farmer from Gov.Easley Have served on NC Aquariums Board, Given to NC Wesleyan' and Hobson Pittman Museum. Donated collections to UNC, Duke University, Pfieffer Univ , Martin County Courthouse, Greensboro Univ , Cosmos Club , Mass General Hospital , Johns Hopkins and Vanderbilt. Winner of Caraway Award for historic preservation of St James Place. President American Roentgen Ray Society and Association of Univ Radiologists.Received Gold Medal from those societies Distinguished Graduate of Duke Medical School and Humanitarian Award. Collections of American paintings,NC pottery ,NC decoys and folk art. Serve UNC Board for Study American South.23 Who is Who in America. ard I always wanted to be a physician when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were correct. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be 50. I was so completely naive. become world famous and contribute to mankind raise a great family--I did it Thank God My best friend would tell you I'm very friendly, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as aloof. no much more conservative -elegant I share my home with wife and labrador , which I find wonderful. too many to single out one In 10 years, I hope to be alive. I'm going to get there by persistence. too many maybe high school buddy My first job was at Harvard, where I got paid too little . What I remember most about it is mentally exciting . living in house with 5 adults and no other children
