Evylen's Story
Recently I have received a couple of requests to tell my story. Now, since I have been laid off from my job I have time to do that. So the short version is.......
..... after high school I wandered around for a couple of years not knowing what to do with my life. I ended up getting married to someone that I had nothing in common with. We moved up to Denver and had three boys together. We called it quits after eight years. I have been single ever since. My boys and I moved back to Durango in 1995. The last 12 years I had been working for a non-profit agency here in Durango called Community Connections. I really liked my job, but was laid off in January of this year. s support staff and worked my way up tp managing one of the programs. So now I am working at starting my own home based busines. My boys are all grown. My oldest son Aaron is married and has three boys. The youngest Joshua is living with his girlfriend and they haved an 18 month old boy. My middle son Jared seems to be my "failure to launch" and lives with me.
So far I have survived a really bad marriage, cancer, and a pretty nasty car accident.
But I have also been blessed with my three sons, four grandsons, and a very large extended family here in Durango that I don't see nearly enough of.
At this point in time life is good and I am planning on starting my second childhood.
