Faye's Story
Life
Since graduating from highschool, I met my husband Mike at PNC. A year after we met, Mike left for the Navy. Shortly after being established with the Navy, we married. We have been traveling ever since. We are enjoying a wonderful life traveling the world, experiencing continuous adventures, and meeting amazing people that we try to keep in contact with. God has blessed us with four beautiful and successful daughters, three fantastic son-in-laws and three grandchildren.
We try to visit La Porte every summer for the annual forth of July celebration. One of my daughters' fondest memories of the their childhood was the annual summer tip to visit family in La Porte. Some of the disadvantages of continuously traveling and moving every three years were that my daughters haven't actually grown-up in a "hometown" or having childhood friends. Surprisingly, they now consider La Porte their hometown. They bring to my attention the possitive things of La Porte that I have overlooked or never took notice to. Two of my daughters have returned to La Porte after graduating from college and planted roots there.
We currently live in the "Great Northwest" but own a house in Florida. We originally planned to return to Florida once my husband retired from the Navy. I remember after graduation from HS that I couldn't wait to move away from La Porte so I could travel and experince life and only return to visit. Now that my family has grown, and I feel differntly about La Porte, I am ready to sell my house in Florida and return back to La Porte bringing me close to family.
Not everything has been a bouquet of roses for me but through my travels and my occupation, I have been to some of the poorest and dirtiest places along with some of the lush and weathly places. Lived through hurricanes, tsunamies, and nursed back to health some of the illest and neglected individuals. Know people who have everything and are miseribl...Expand for more
e, people who had everything and lost it all. Then there are those who have nothing, but themselves and their families and are just the happiest and content people.
Anyways, I came from a practical hard working family that taught strong morals and work ethics that I have also worked diligently to instill in my children. Along with life lessons, my travels, and my faith in God my experiences since HS have made me humble (appreciative of what God has blessed me with), non-materialistic,(one strong hurricane and its all blown away), and and to be a person who seriously cares about other individuals. Theres too many selfish people in this world that simply don't care.
Therefore, in other words, I'm just a simple and practical classmate, that believes in strong morals, ethics, is goal orientated, and has worked hard for what I have. I don't pretend to be what I'm not because its not what I want to be. I haven't reached all my goals, otherwise I would be dead. Everyday is a new adventure for me. Even though I have my adversities just like the next person, I can honestly say that I am happy and content with my life.
Since I have been awful at keeping contact with friends and classmates from HS and have never attended a class reunion, please don't hesitate to send a message. I continue to love keeping in contact with people around the world and would like hear about your life since high school
