Fernando's Story
In a nutshel, right after HS, started at UTEP and finished my Civil Engineer Degree at NMSU, Master's at Troy State U. Joined the Air Force after graduation as a Civl Engineer Officer and spent approximately 15 years in the Pacific (Japan, Korea, Philipines, Thailand), Europe (Portugal,Spain Germany, Italy, Belgium, Neatherlands), Turkey and 6 years between Holloman AFB (Alamogordo, NM), and Peterson AFB (Colorado Springs, CO) where I retired. Next I spent 11 years as a Civil Servant with the Air Force again, in such places as Germany, Scott AFB in Illinois (next to St Louis, MO), and Randolph AFB in San Antonio.

ntenance contract at Fort Bliss, which brought me back to El Paso after 31 years. Afterwards, I spent a year in Kabul, Afghanistan where I mentored Senior Ministry of Defense, Afghanistan National Army Leadership towards the development of an Engineering Design & Construction Headquarters. From there Co (URS) sent me to Iraq for another year plus to execue an Engineering, Operations & Maintenance Contract--was one of the last civilians to leave Iraq in 2011, and now I find myself at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan executing a Force Protection contract.
I've had a great life thus far.. ..been happily married and two great sons. Also two female dogs (mini Chihuahuas), nine turtles, and two canary birds, go figure.
