Hello, Friends. After working for Gerber & Gerber Life Insurance for 42 years and 2 mos, I retired 2/27/04. It's wonderful & am having a great time.(Husband, Fred, retired 4 yrs ago. Eldest daughter lives in GR w/husband & teenage daughter. Youngest daughter lives nearby w/husband & 8 yr old daughter. Last month, the 8 yr old & I went to ALA to see old friends Carol & Bill Fisher. We logged 1760 miles & she proved to be an excellent navigator. I play golf once a week w/old classmate Sharon Flinton. We don't play well but do have fun & truly enjoy the rewards of our effort (dinner!) Once a month, I get together w/Sharon, Lorraine (Fry), Ginny (Slade), & Gloria (Cline)for dinner. I loved my career but am finding retirement even more fun. Am an organist at St. Joseph Church, along with being Liturgy Team Leader. Also go to two nursing homes in Fremont and provide communion svcs for the Catholic residents every ...Expand for more
Friday. This has given me a whole new perspective & appreciation for "end of life." The people we serve are an absolute delight. Each one is unique and wonderful. Am QueenB of the Scarlette Sisterhood, a chapter of the Red Hat Society. We're a fairly new group. Took a few lessons in English-style horseback riding the last couple of years. I really like it but have not been brave enough to try actually jumping. (No Olympian here.)I'm happy enough to know how to trot and cantor on a horse. I ck my e-mail (almost) everyday & would love to hear from old friends. We'll be having our 45th class reunion in 2005. Had one in 2000 & since then we've lost 3 of our classmates. Life is short! We need to keep in touch & visit in person whenever we can. "How far we go depends on how hard we try."
