Filous's Story

Life I've been married for 33 yrs to a wonderful woman that I met on a Tuesday, Nov. 01, 1977, proposed to her that following Friday, Nov. 04, 1977, and married her on March 26, 1978. She had three daughters that we raised together, who have all turned out very, very well. I am a minister and pastor of the Independent Apostolic Church of God, Inc here in Dayton along with my wife, Doris, who is the assistant pastor. She and I established it in the year of 1981. I currently work as a staff accountant for a major health network here in Dayton, Ohio. After I graduated from Rosedale High in 1972, I attended Mississippi Valley State University until May of 1977. My first job upon graduating was at a finance company by the name of Dial Finance. It was here that I met my future wife. She came in the office on her lunch break to pay on her account, and while doing so she overheard my telling some other guy who came in just before her about the kind of woman that I was looking to marry. She stopped in the middle of what she was doing, looked up from the table, and said,"I'M AVAILABLE"; and the rest they say is history. Ok, here's a little more of what I remember. When she completed her business, I asked her for her phone number. She replied by saying, "It's on the account card in case you are Interested" (Oh Boy!! You Best Believe I was Interested). So, I told her that I would call her. When sh...Expand for more
e got up and proceeded to leave the office (and yes, I did what any red blooded 25 year old American male would do)I stared at her all the way until she was totally out of sight. The black and white fury jacket she wore accented the top of her form very well. The maroon hip huggers pants matched with her burgandy leg high boots accented the bottom half of her form. No more needs to be said...THAT WOMAN HAD HOOKED ME HOOK LINE AND SINKER (and I Haven't gotten off of her line yet). Anyway, this is what she told me sometime later. After she returned to work, she told her supervisor that she had met the most wonderful man that she was going to marry. Now, mind you, she didn't even know my name. But, that Friday of that same week, I proposed to her. When I asked her if she would marry me, she said that she had to think about it. I then told her that this was one time offer and I needed an answer then. I also told her that I was going to make some woman mighty happy in this world and that it might as well be her. She then said "OK". I have kept my word to her, and trust me when I say that she is the "HAPPIEST WOMAN IN THE WORLD" these 31 years later. Now, you know the rest of the story. I hope and pray that all couples know the love and happiness that she and I have enjoyed these many years. Keeping Jesus first and formost in our lives has been the key to our successful marriage.
