Carol's Story

I would really love to hear from any of my old High School buddies. Feel free to email me at Carol at clubtel "dot" com A quick update on my life....I graduated Pepperdine University with a Master's Degree in Education and began teaching - I even traveled all over the US as an on-set teacher for child actors. That was a blast! I worked my way up to becoming a Grad School Professor in the Education Dept. of National University before I decided to retire from teaching in 2000 because a small side company of mine that I had been dabbling with for a few years had grown too big to continue to juggle in with being a teacher. It was hard to leave all of the students that I adored so much, but for the past 20 years now I've owned a jewelry and philanthropy company, which has grown nationally and I now make much of the crystal covered handbags, jewelry & engagement rings that you see on many T.V. shows. I use this business to do a ton of charity fund-raising events and have donated a portion of my sales to hundreds of important causes such as cancer research, abused children centers, hospital research centers, pet rescue, and many other causes. In 2006 I launched the first website in the world that allowed the public to actually RENT jewelry, just like my celebrity clients had been doing for years. I was very fortunate that I had so many Hollywood contacts who talked about my products and company in the media, which resulted in a very fun, whirlwind ride of TV and magazine interviews over the years. My company has been written up in Marie Claire, Cosmo, Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal, Good Housekeeping and the New York Times style section, and I was also on the the E Network's Style News, The Tyra Banks show, KTLA Morning News, Inside Edition, the Today show., etc Doing all of this media has been so much fun, and has enabled me to grow my business across the U.S., and by donating back 20% of all sales to charities I've been able to use it to do a lot of good for others as well. My husband, Greg, is my Prince Charming and is the most selfless, caring and romantic man I have ever met, even after all of these years. I still get flowers and breakfast in bed at least once a week, and I know how lucky I am for that. Although he comes from a show-b...Expand for more
usiness family, he is very down to earth and humble. He's very creative & entrepreneurial like me, so he owns several of his own tech companies. We are both fortunate in the fact that we can work from home 95% of the time. Although we don't work together he is always nearby to land a helping hand whenever I need it. I have a wonderful daughter who is my best friend in the whole world, and who I adore with all my heart. I've watched her grow into the gorgeous and amazing 30 year old she is today. She graduated from USC (with a 4.0) and was manager of the Disney Jr brand at corporate Disney in Burbank for several years. She was later recruited for a managerial & research position by Pinterest and moved to San Francisco. The one thing that I have done in my life that I am MOST proud of, and get the most pleasure from, is being a Mom! She is my heart and soul! I lost my 2 small dogs a few years back but they lived to be 16 & 17 years old. They were a 10 pound Maltese and a miniature 4 pound Yorkie. They were my pride and joy. After they passed I waited a few years to mourn their loss and then rescued a 3-year-old small Maltese and he is my shadow. He is super smart and I swear that he understands any command I give him. He’s got more personality than any pet I’ve ever had and I love him SOOO much! I also have a beautiful collection of 40 exotic salt-water fish, which we house in a 500 gallon fish tank in the wall of our dining room. They are so awesome to sit and watch! I still live in the San Fernando Valley area and I still keep in touch with a handful of the old gang such as Jeri Martin, Scott Tucker (who is now my neighbor), Debbie & Linda Barchichat, Maureen Ochoa, Keith Cooper, etc. Thanks to Facebook I have recently connected with about 50 old friends from Grant and I am loving it! There is nothing more important in this world than old friends and solid friendships, so remember to send an email to an old friend and make their day. : ) I would LOVE to get an email from you. Tell me all about your life and who you still talk to, etc. Hope to see you all at the next reunion! Hope you are doing what you love, enjoying life, and have done something to leave your mark on this world and make it a better place, in even the smallest way.
