As I look back on my past life especially high school when I was living in denial of who and what I was I have finally come to the realization that I was merely trying to figure out what I was meanwhile knowing deep inside that I was " Gay all the way " . Then meeting the man that would 29 years later would become my husband that taught me that I did not need to hide what I felt inside . Well him teaching me to be true to myself was oh so freeing ! So freeing in fact that I came out at work and once he made the decision to become a long haul trucker well I was emboldened even more so because he never failed to mention to his superiors that his " partner " would be picking up his paychecks I learned to become familiar with said superiors and found myself being considered as " one of their own " . As things progressed and my health began to take a turn for the worst ( my past drug use was catching up to me because I was diagnosed with Aids in late 2000 . I decided to post the foto that was used for a " it gets better " project in 2015 because even tho I had not been warned about sharing needlez did so not thinking of any consequence. I decided to come out not just that one time but came out many times thereafter because someone had to no longer live in fear of the blood borne disease but needed to make others take notice that some of we " long time survivors " were still standing and doing good because we got the help needed to survive ! Did that prevent our love from going on well NO it just strengthened the bond we already had . Then scotus ratified ssm and we got married on my birthday of February 12th, 2015 . Then his health took a huge turn for the worst and I discovered his rigor stuff person . According to the paramedic / ent he " suffered a massive coronary and did not know what hit him " . Well I knew that I wanted an older man as my mate now guess what I have become THAT older man . Now that I have taken on the role of " daddy " to 2 younger men I am thoroughly enjoying the love each bestowed upon me ( one is in a state far away whereas the other is an hour away ) . Still it's nice to know that my having coming to term with my sexuality has made my life so much better and that live knows no gender ! Moved to Alabama when my father retired from the F.A.A as a fireman at what was then Washington Nat Airport in 1982 . Went to the local community college in 1982 graduated in 1984 with an Assiocate's Degree in Applied Science ( which the core courses were geared more toward the institution's ( hospitals and or long term care facilities ) instead of cooking for the masses which was more in line with my informal learning ). Made the dean's list multiple time's while in college ( never imagined me as one to achieve such a thing did ya ! ) Learned to embrace my leather side and became an associate of various leather clubs of which my favorite is one in Nashville Tn ( hence the pix of me in my leather's herein ) . Over the years in between I have worked in various restaurants and night clubs ( aka bars ) in various positions usually beginning on the bottom rung and skipping step's along the way to some and ending up in management in the end of it all . The last corporation I was employed by was Rink-Reow ( dba The Tool Box ) In my current hometown ( worked there for nearly 5 years until the owner decided to close that location and concentrate more on the one that I was manager of to fund another location in Chattanooga Tn ) .
