Floyd's Story
After high school I got my my B.A. in Psych and Business at UNC. I didn't take however 'cause I got into the Sprinkler and Landscape business and did that for most of the next 25 years and did numerous other things over the winter months.
I met a girl named Terri Draper from TJ at Dan Hackett's wedding in 1981 and married her in 1983. We celebrate our 25th anniversery this July 2nd. Terri had 5 year old twin girls when we were married and we had 2 more of our own. The youngest is graduating from high school this year.
We lived in Southeast Denver and Aurora for the first several years until it just got too big so moved to Johnstown (about 50 mi. North of Denver) in 1992. and built a house on some land homesteaded by my Great Grandfather in 1876 and we still live here today.
For those of you wondering why I'm still alive; I did quit drinking and most of my other self distructive habit...Expand for more
s in 1989.
Terri and I have faced many challanges in our life together, the latest being a bad traffic accident in 05 that shattered my pelvis. That really changed our lives in many ways. I'm just now beginning to feel well recovered from it. It none the less, pretty effectively took me out of my physical line of work. I am now forced to practice more cerebral pastimes. We are however greatful for the things we do have. Good marriage, family, ability to work, etc..
Terri was an R.N. when I met her but got into computers and is now making a good living installing software in hospitals nationwide.
I'm going to start substitute teaching. I'm getting a licence as a pilot car driver andstarted breeding Texas longhorn cattle. I've even started writing a book. Not that that's going to go anywhere but it keeps me entertained when I'm alone here on the farm.
Besides that my life is pretty dull.
