Janis's Story
Life
11/2008: I retired 7/2004. Have two beautiful daughters, Keri age 36, and Shannon, age 34. Also have two grandsons, and one granddaughter who light up my life immensely. Their names are Gabriel, Shaw, and Samantha. Gabriel just started kindergarten, and his big sister is now a freshman in high school. Shaw is in 4th grade. Being a grandparent is the most wonderful adventure. Am divorced and still in touch with most of my closest friends from high school and a few even from grammar school. There is still nothing like an old friend!! My parents are still doing wonderfully well considering their ages. Dad is 92 and mom just turned 91. Both are in pretty good health considering their age...Expand for more
s. I am one blessed person indeed. Life is definitely sweeter since retirement and I enjoy my slower pace. The one thing I miss most about still being in both grammar and high school is being able to go horseback riding mostly whenever I wanted. I still love horses and always will--just not cost effective to own one. Am looking forward to more traveling, being in the mountains, or watching the sunset (or rise) over the Puget Sound, which I've recently discovered. Also love to travel to Canada and have met some wonderful life-long friends in Ontario, Canada. Can't wait to get back there to visit them as well. Basically all is well--hope all is well for anyone who may be reading this too.
