Forrest is a native Texan and served six years in the US Marine Corps holding a Department of Defense secret security clearance throughout his service. After his tour in the Marines, he attended Mountain View College in Dallas and Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology in Tulsa, OK. He is married to Julie and they have two great kids, Jessica and Barrett. Forrest is a long-time Parrothead and has seen Jimmy Buffett many times. He enjoys motorcycling and rode Harley-Davidsons throughout the 90's and switched to BMW in early 2004 and still rides Beemers to this day. Forrest started reenacting in the early 90's; first doing War Between the States, then switching to WWII in the early 2000's. He is an active shooter of all types of military small arms hearkening back to his Corps days. His World War II unit has been featured on the History Channel and digitized in military "shoot 'em up" games. He served the unit as a squad-leader with the rank of sergeant in the 2008 season. Forrest is a member of South Side Foggy Mountain Chili team (founded in 1980) and blues review participating for many years including the peak years in the mid-90's when invitations to Terlingua for the team were commonplace. Terlingua is the invitational-only wold championship of chili.".
