Douglas's Story
Where does a person begin after 50 years? Left home and on my own right after graduation. Worked full time and went to PC. Met my wife in ‘73 and married in ‘75. In our 48th year! 2 kids, one of each gender, with currently 4 grandkids. Made my career in Project and Construction Management with some architecture thrown in the mix. Been self employed since 2005, providing a niche management service to retail developers. Still working. Other than 2 years living in Alberta Canada early in our married life, we lived in Phoenix (Peoria) until 2011 when we moved to Prescott Valley. Heat had cooked my brain and had to move to a cooler climate. We love it here but we still drive to the valley a lot, since our kids live there. My employment has taken me all...Expand for more
across the western US and enjoyed the travel until 9/11 came along. My current work had us living “temporarily “ in the Bay Area of S.F. for 5 1/2 years, but Az was always home base. Loved the climate and beauty of the area but was not our cup of tea politics wise. Was there during all of the huge fires including Paradise, Ca. horrific destruction. At times felt like we were living in an apocalyptic time. Stayed in touch with a few alumni through Facebook, mainly those who went to Isaac Jr. High together. We were all lucky that we lived where we had an open campus invitation to attend WHS! Otherwise we would have been forced to go to Carl Hayden!
Looking forward to seeing all at the reunion. Hoping there is a designated spot to park our walkers!
