Frances's Story

Life I have been married for 28 years and have 4 children, 2 boys & two girls. I also have 2 grandchildren a boy, Riley and a little girl Grace. Riley is almost 8 years old and has lived with us for the better part of his life and for the past 3 years have been raising him fulltime. He is a joy! Gracie will celebrate her first birthday in two weeks! I work full-time for a real estate development company. I live in Dana Point, CA. I still love to run (it's just harder to find the time) and have ran in several marathons, half marathons and several other races. Still singing in church and performing in plays when I can find time. Love to do crafts and garden - just your typical mom. I am involved in an organization that raises money for abused children - we put on luncheons and a huge boutique at the Disneyland Hotel - I am in charge of the boutique so this takes a lot of my time - but I love doing it. Life is certainly busy but good. School I went to Ernie Pyle Elementry, Washington Jr. High and graduated from Bellflower High School. I have fond memories of elementry school, playing soccer, kick ball and running in the field. I remember how "boy crazy" I was - I think I had a crush on just about everyone at the school from Mike Tinklenberg, Mark Miller to Fred Morales, John Burnette and a host of others. Sometimes my 'love' was reciprocated, sometimes not. I remember in kindergarten chasing and catching & then kissing Chris White, after which, he promptly pushed me down! I loved Miss A...Expand for more
lmond's class. Loved reading time - she would read a novel to us over the course of a few weeks, a chapter a day. I really enjoyed sitting at my desk & listening to the story. That may be why I enjoy reading so much today. Washington Jr. High was a scarry new experience - hated the showers & Ms. Hayes!!! Loved girls glee with Mr. Green & the cheese bread for snack! Loved stopping at the little liquor store on the way to and from school for some candy - sour apple treats! High School - by now your used to the showers so no big deal - but now your the new kids on the block. It was fun to see all the upper classman and walk by senior square and anticipate the day you can stand in there - only funny thing, when it came time to be able to be there I never really wanted to be there. Loved music and singing with Tom Dustman. Ensemble was a great experience and I have many fond memories of that. I remember singing a solo at an assembly my senior year - some song from "A Star is Born" how scared I was! I remember being one of only two girls in a wrestling class that Mr. Brown taught and knowing the only reason I took that class was because of Mr. Brown, (remember I was boy crazy in elementry? Then I got man crazy a little later). I remember sitting on the grass and eating lunch with my friends. I also remember how glad I was to graduate and move on the next phase of life - When I am in town I sometimes drive by and look at the school - it is so different - almost seems like I was never there.
