Frances's Story
HS graduation was my cue to hit the road. Went to Arizona and discovered the western desert. I was broke so I enlisted in the USAF and spent sometime on Okinawa and at Griffiss AFB in NY in Civil Engineering Squadrons. Spent sometime bouncing around between Arizona and NY before I landed hard in Texas. Spent 5 years in the Texas Air National Guard as a Airport Surveillance RADAR technician and was introduced to my new employer, the FAA. I now take care of FAA navigational and communication facilities. Sometime along the way, I raised a daughter who is now a graduate from the University of Tampa. She turned out to be everything a mom could ever want in a daughter. I am the priveleged owner of a 23.5 acre farmette in upstate NY and hope to be bui...Expand for more
lding a cabin there in the next few years. I aim to do a little X-country skiing and riding my big horsey in the woods. I am also a Certified Log Home Builder with the Log Home Builders' Association. There is little I do not attempt to do by myself. In fact, despite the huge lazy streak I have, I am really very productive. I spend too much time on the computer doing silly stuff when I should be on a ladder right now repairing something. I welcome any news from anyone to distract me even more from my seemingly endless responsibilities and to give me an excuse to sit down and read while sipping a voddie.
Update: In December, 2010, I transferred to Syracuse, NY to be closer to my Fulton County land and I LOVE my new life in upstate New York.
