Frances's Story
Life
My maiden name was Patterson when I attended Brainerd High School. I married in 1972, divorced in 1987 and remarried to my wonderful (and current) husband in 1993. We have two sons (44 and 41), three stepdaughters, 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. I retired from Irving ISD having taught both Spanish and Bilingual (Spanish) Music at an elementary school in Irving, TX for 22 years. I officially retired May 31, 2010.
While living in Texas, I used to be a regular at Wylie Opry in Wylie, Texas, and upon invitation at Johnnie High Country Music Review in Arlington, TX, as well as another venue, Texas Lil's in Justin, TX. We now reside in Chattanooga, TN (yes, all my hubby's exes live in Texas), where my parents are still with us, as is my brother. Needless to say we make a lot of trips to Texas to see all of our children and family.
I co-published a book with Composer Jill Gallina entitled CANTEN, AMIGOS (check it out at the Shawnee Press website or now Hal Leonard Music) and also completed another project with them as Spanish editor/translator and music "applier" (whatever you call it...putting Spanish words to existing arrangements of music in Finale) on a collection of 25 popular Chris...Expand for more
tian songs (ALABANZAS PODEROSAS) in Spanish. You can check that out at the Hal Leonard website, too. It may still be listed on Amazon, as well. This has been a new direction in my life career. I guess it proves that you're never too old to learn, huh? What??? I used the OLD word???? Sorry.... NOT ME!! I'm YOUNG!!
I love to ride horses, and prospect for gold and we're Life Members of the Lost Dutchman's Mining Association, as well as Gold Prospectors of America, and usually camp (in our RV..ok...so I'm spoiled). We made regular trips to Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming, to name a few.
In college (UTC) I was a Pi Beta Phi, but have lost contact with my sorority sisters, so if any of you are out there, please CONTACT me!! I'd love to hear from you. I was an original member of the Singing Mocs and Chattanooga Singers at UTC (from 1968 - 1973.
I'm a retired member of Alpha Delta Kappa, a professional honor sorority for educators. So, that's about it...I'm sure there's more, but I've said enough as it is right here. I guess I haven't lost the "oh, and she talks a lot" trait since high school. I'd love to hear from you all before I'm too old to hear or type. :-)
