Life
June 1, 2007 I have just returned home from a 2 & 1/2 month trip in an RV across the country.The trip totaled over 10,000 miles. Starting in my home state of Washington, we traveled to California where we stayed with friends who own a farm near Chico, CA. Then it was off to Arizona, where we spent a week in Mesa. The weather was perfect. Then it was off to Albuquerque New Mexico. Where one morning much to our surprise we woke up to snow. Then it was on to Oklahoma City. If you haven't been there it's a city worth visiting! The next place we visited was Nashville Tennessee. What a night life. We also spent sometime in North Carolina where we took the Great Smokey Mountain Railway for a wonderful ride through the Great Smokey Mountains, it was my first time on a train. Then we drove the back roads through the most beautiful countryside in the states of Kentucky, Virginia, & Pennsylvania. Where we went to the town of Hershey, it was delightful. took a ferry to Martha's Vineyard. It was beautiful day. Then we spent two glorious weeks with my Daughter and her fiance in Vermont.Where I met my beautiful new Grandson. The days and nights flew by and I enjoyed each and every moment. Then it was off to Canada for a few days. Next we visited Michigan. Where we took a ferry to Mackinaw Island. It takes you back in time. There are no cars aloud on the Island (except a few emergency vehicles). They carry everything by horse and buggy. People were having their houses remodeled and they carried all the building materials, including the toilets and appliances by horse drawn carriages. This is also the town that "Somewhere in Time" was filmed. Then we made our way through Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota & Montana. We took Hwy 12, also known as Lolo Pass. Of all the roads we drove this was the most spectacular! Then it was a quick stop to my cousins cattle ranch. It is the most peaceful place on earth. It is also where I saw my first baby moose while we were traveling on an old dirt road in the mountains. Then we made our way back home to the beach. Just in time for the great weather...
