Frank's Story

I hope my friends remember me as loyal and brave. As I grew up, I learned that most people we call friends are really acquaintances and not friends. My hero is my Son Frank Jr. who died in a car accident in 1992. He was handsome, loyal, kind, loving and brave. He was very athletic and was successful in all his endeavors. He always fought for the little guy and would not hesitate to help a stranger in need. I always told everyone I know that Frank was the kind of guy that I would want standing next to me in a dangerous situation. There is a copy of a newspaper article about my Son and his friend Martin Salazar from 1989 in the pictures section. I have lived in Albuquerque most of my life and I love this City. I love going to the movies and out to eat with my family. I enjoy watching various sporting events in person and on television, such as, boxing, college basketball, college and professional football and MMA. I hate most reality TV shows except American Idol. My biggest surprises are that I have lived as long as I have and that I am still married after more than 37 years. If I won $100 million, I'd give much of it to my family, then spend the rest on traveling, a beach home and establishing a national program to teach teenage parents how to be responsible parents My current age is 55. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be six feet under. I relax most by taking a walk or riding my bicyc...Expand for more
le. My best friend would tell you I'm loyal and supportive, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as a snob or arrogant. I retired about ten years ago, but I have many business awards for outstanding leadership and performance. I was one of the best in my field of business. I would take over an inefficient organization and turn things around very quickly. I never failed at any endeavor or challenge. Of course this was due to the tremendous commitment and loyalty of great staff. If I could have one do-over, I would focus more time on education and less time hanging out and partying with people who did not value education. In 10 years, I hope to be fully retired. I'm going to get there by planning transition from the world of work. I met my oldest friend Jeff at work in 1976, and we both are the same kind of people. We enjoy the same music and entertainment. He is truly a kindred spirit and someone whose company I really enjoy! I have a very small circle of friends and he is one of the few people I will always consider a friend. I have not seen him in ten years, but we still keep in touch. I think most people would be surprised that I made a successful career in the people business because I was always so shy and quiet. The only students with whom I was not shy and quiet was with the school bullies. I never took any crap from them, they always picked on smaller kids, but not with me!
