Frank's Story
After graduating from High School I received my draft notice and subsequently enlisted in the US Navy. Spent 6 years on active duty where I was trained as a nuclear power plant operator and chemist. Also went through the air conditioning, refrigeration school while serving from San Diego to Chicago, Port Deposit MD, Schenectady NY, Philadelphia and Norfolk VA. Made 4 Mediterranean cruises, 1 South American cruise transversing the Panama Canal.
Met and married my lovely wife Donna while stationed in Philadelphia in 1973. After my discharge from the Navy we moved to California where I obtained employment at Disneyland as an AC/refrigeration technician. After moving from Anaheim CA to our present home in Jurupa Valley CA in 1978 I worked for a private company before we started our own RV sales, service, rental and storage business in Corona CA. Successfully operating our business for 18 years we sold it in 2005 where at that time I became semi-retired and started my real estate career as an agent. elf became involved i. The incorporation effort of our area. Where we lived with a population of 100,000 was in dire need of local control and services thus the effort to become a city. This effort was successful in 2011 and I was elected to the very first city council and served as Mayor in 2014. My wife retired from the county job she had in 2013 and 2 days later ws appointed to a vacancy on our school board. She was successfully re-elected in Nov.2014 to a 4 year term. We both stay very busy with our civic duties, visiting our 3 children and grandkids. We enjoy riding and traveling on our Harley Davidson seeing and experiencing the sights, sounds and smells of the country. Maybe we will cross paths and see some of you as we do. In 2017 we sold our home of 39 years in Jurupa Valley and moved to the Sierras very near Yosemite National Park just outside the small town of Oakhurst CA. We both are enjoying our new retirement and adventures. If you’re ever visiting Yosemite or the area please let us know, our welcome mat is always out.
