Frank's Story
I have been married to my bride, Arlene, for over 47 years. We have two sons, ten grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. All reside in the Phoenix area.
After graduating from Hillsdale in 1968, I went to the College of San Mateo where I met and dated Arlene (a graduate of South San Francisco High School). In 1970, we became engaged in February and then married in August. For the first two years of marriage, I went back to Hillsdale as a teacher assistant in the Social Studies Department until moving to Billings, Montana to finish college.
Although I earned a degree in education, I worked in business management for the first ten years of marriage. After moving to Arizona, I obtained my teaching certificate. Arlene and I retired in August 2015. We still keep in contact with previous colleagues and with many of the students I taught over the years. Several of my students have become teachers, administrators, and educational support staff.
Hillsdale High School had much more of an impact on my life than I realized in 1968. You see, when I was a senior, I had the privilege of being a student teacher assistant in the English Department. It was from that experience that I knew my future would be -- to aspire to be a positive influence in the lives of my students.
One hundred years from now, it will not matter what type of house you lived in or the kind of car you drove, but what will be important is that you had a positive impact on those who have come within your radius!
