Frank's Story
Technically not a Shadle Park grad but I still claim it as my High School. All my friends attended or graduated (a lot of us didn't) from Shadle. I left at the end of my Sophmore year, wouldn't have graduated anyway (I think I had like 2 credits and those were in woodshop), and realized there was no chance of completing (plus Mr Adams hated me, not good) so I quit along with a few of my friends, Randy F., Gary D, Scott B., Dusty, Baca, Pedro...the list goes on. I didn't run with the jocks, or the nerds (I think we called them tubes) and we weren't the best citizens Spokane had to offer but I wouldn't change it...I learned alot in that time that has and continures to served me well in child rearing, advice, guidance, accountability, ownership, knowing what not to do, and realizing when it is time to move on. tually, I joined the Air Force (best decision in my life) and left Spokane in Sept, 1975. So, 34 year story short, had a very successful 22 year career in the Air Force as a Casualty Counselor, Inspector General for Complaints, and ended my career as a First Sergeant (#2) of a squadron of 166. I have one son, Jason Pratt whom I raised from this time he was 6 (my first wife, Jennie and I divorced in 1986...married her in Reno and divorced her in Las Vegas (I love saying that) Jennie and I remain very close, camping, my rec property boating and playing, holidays, vacations, ect. (her husband Jim is my best friend). We (my incredibly understanding and beautiful wife Joan and I) have 4 beautiful and brilliant grandchildren and are kind of livin' the dream I guess from at materialistic spin. Present day, I manage a Veterans Counseling Center, in Renton, WA. trying to help our King County Vet population through some of their trials and tribulations...love it but am growing a bit tired of counseling...4 more years and I'm done working at least professionally.
