Fred's Story
After graduation I left Orlando to meet with other Floridians at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center on the western shore of Lake Michigan north of Chicago. I haven't been the same since. The horrors of boot camp does that to you.
I'm 70 years old and I'm still having sleepless nights with nightmares. I got even with them though, I stayed in the military for over 20 years and now every month they pay me to keep my mouth shut. I don't keep it shut though, I talk more now than I did in high school.

nd haven't stopped. I sneaked my first cigarettes from my two parents - Old Golds and Camels. There were no filters in them days.
Sometimes I shared with other kids in the neighborhood or sold them cigarettes for a nickle. I guess I was the first drug dealer on our street.
When I was a sophomore I used to sneak out of the basement door at night to meet up with my buddy who had a car. We would go cruisin' until 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning, then he would bring me back home and I would sneak back in the basement door and go to sleep.
My folks didn't find out for months until we kept two girls out until dawn once. Each had told their parents they were staying at the others girls house. They weren't too skilled at lying, so when one parent called the other we were had - cops and all.
But, there were some non-offensive things I did back then, I just can't remember them now. More later.
