Fred's Story
Well I graduated from AHS 1965. Lived in Waimalu and had a brother named Billy. Right after graduation I enlisted in the Army with the 11th All Hawaii company and we all went to take basic training at Fort Ord, California. Married Nina Quevido and stayed married to her for almost 20 years and then things went south! Went to Vietnam in 1968/69 and made the Army a career. Retired in 1985 after 20 years, then worked for California Department of Corrections for another 23 years and retired again in 2009. Have all my cousins, relatives still in Hawaii on numerous isl...Expand for more
ands but decided to retire to Huntsville, Alabama. I just love it here, beaches of the gulf coast are fantastic with pure white sand, no waves though as I was a big time surfer in high school with Melvin hanohano, Lester kiyono, David kanokano, Clifford libed etc. I remember we used to fold newspapers at Clifford Marcello's house. Don't know if you all know but Lester Kiyono and my bother Billy both passed away a number of years ago, both suddenly. My brother Billy is buried at National Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl, Hawaii, he was also VN Vietnam veteran.
