Life I enlisted in the U.S. Navy right after graduation from Rincon. I was trained as a Hospital Corpsman. Initially stationed at the US Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan for 18 months, I was transferred to the Fleet Marine Force, and trained as a combat medic,. I served with the 3rd Marine Division in South Viet Nam and earned 3 Purple Hearts. After discharge from the Navy I began my career as a paramedic with the Los Angeles City Fire Department. I served as a field paramedic for 10 years, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Supervisor for five years, EMS District Commander for five years. During my tenure with the LAFD I earned a BA Degree in management from the University of Redlands. After retiring from the Fire Department I became Vice President of Medical Priority Consultants, Inc. in Salt Lake City, Utah and provided EMS and Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) management consulting services for EMS and 9-1-1 agencies throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe.
